Corrections & Updates Policy

Our Commitment to Accountability

At NewsStoryUS, accuracy and transparency are central to our journalism and storytelling.

Despite our editorial review and fact-checking process, errors can occasionally occur. When they do, we are committed to correcting them promptly and clearly.

Maintaining reader trust is one of our highest priorities.

Types of Corrections

We classify corrections into the following categories:

1. Minor Corrections

These include:

  • Typographical errors
  • Spelling mistakes
  • Formatting issues
  • Minor grammatical edits

Such corrections may be made without a formal correction note, provided they do not change the meaning of the content.

2. Factual Corrections

If an article contains incorrect factual information, such as:

  • Incorrect statistics
  • Misidentified individuals
  • Wrong dates or locations
  • Inaccurate quotes
  • Misstated context

We will:

  • Correct the information promptly
  • Add a correction note at the bottom of the article explaining the change

3. Significant Updates

News and developing stories may evolve as new verified information becomes available.

When substantial updates are made:

  • The article will reflect the latest verified information
  • An update note may be added indicating when the new information was incorporated

This ensures transparency while keeping content accurate and current.

Corrections in Feature & Long-Form Stories

For human interest and long-form stories:

  • Personal accounts are reviewed before publication
  • If an individual requests clarification or correction of factual details, the editorial team will review the request
  • Verified factual errors will be corrected with transparency

Narrative adjustments that do not affect factual accuracy may be updated for clarity without requiring a formal correction notice.

Retractions

In rare cases where content is found to be fundamentally flawed or misleading, NewsStoryUS reserves the right to:

  • Remove the article
  • Publish a retraction notice explaining the reason

Retractions are handled carefully and transparently.

How to Report an Error

Readers who believe an article contains an error may contact us at:

[email protected]

When reporting a concern, please include:

  • The article title
  • The URL
  • A clear description of the suspected error
  • Supporting information, if available

All correction requests are reviewed by our editorial team.

We view corrections not as failures, but as part of responsible journalism.

Whether covering breaking news or publishing in-depth stories, NewsStoryUS remains committed to:

  • Transparency
  • Accuracy
  • Accountability
  • Ethical reporting

Our goal is to continuously improve and maintain the trust of our readers.
